==Background==
It is unclear how often the games are held but they provide enough of a fiscal boost to the local economy that [[Phil Ken Sebben]] tried to convince the Laff-a-lympic committee to bring the next games to his city. Phil providing the Laff-a-lympic commit with the company of [[Gigi]] for the evening, assigned [[Harvey Birdman|Harvey]] to represent [[Grape Ape]] and clear him of charges of using performance enhancing drugs, and hiring one of the committee members sons be Harvey’s legal secretary. The committee, who was considering Phil's city and Papua New Guinea, eventually settled on Dallas for the site of the next games possibly due to the death of one of the committee members ‘man in kilt’. The other committee members are 'Man in fez,' 'man in clogs,' and an African warrior, 'Nnn <click> <click> Uhm-bu-teu'.

==Origin==
In the Original Laff-a-lympics were a segment of the ''Scooby’s All-Star Laff-A-Lympics'' show produced by [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna-Barbera Hanna-Barbera] and airing from 1977-1979. Teams of Hanna-Barbera characters, The Scooby Doobies, the Yogi Yahooeys, and the Really Rottens competed against each other in athletic events. The show was a spoof of the ''Olympic Games'' and the ABC series ''Battle of the Network Stars''.
